Today was not just a GREAT round of golf (78) but the experience from the time we dropped our bags off, to the pro shop, throughout the round and lunch at the club house. A True Lowcountry Golf Experience
Old South Golf Links doesn’t just sit in the Lowcountry, it’s built around it. The course winds through towering live oaks, rolling terrain, with island greens set along the marshes, views out over the Intracoastal Waterway, and home to wildlife galore. Designer Clyde Johnston built the layout to work with the land rather than against it and it shows, right down to Old South’s GEO Certification.

A great day of golf doesn’t start on the first tee, and it doesn’t end at the eighteenth. From the moment you pull in and drop your bags, through the pro shop, the round itself, and lunch afterward at the clubhouse, every part of a visit to Old South is built around the same idea: Southern hospitality, done the way it’s supposed to be done.
The customer service is unmatched — one of the players in my group wanted a breakfast burrito but the kitchen wasn’t open yet, so the assistant golf pro hopped on the grill and made it for him…

The Team Behind the Conditions
Guests notice the course conditions and that doesn’t happen by accident. Every fairway, green, and bunker played through is the result of an early-morning, year-round effort from our superintendent and grounds crew: work most guests never see, but almost always mention. When a review says the course was in exceptional shape, that’s not luck, that’s a team that shows up before sunrise to make it that way.
Great course layout, very well maintained, and all staff are top notch. In town for a few days and could not have asked for a better course to get in 18.

Give Back While You Play: The 19th Hole Challenge
Part of what makes a visit to Old South memorable happens off the course entirely. Before or after your round, try your hand at the 19th Hole Challenge. Take a shot at our floating island green for $5 (all proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Project). Land it, and you’ll walk away with a $10 credit at the Southern Cafe. It’s a small thing, but it’s the kind of small thing that turns a good round into a memorable day and supports a cause worth supporting while you’re at it.
