A Weekend of Competition in the Lowcountry
The Lowcountry Open FlingGolf tournament at Old South Golf Links near Hilton Head Island brought top players together for a weekend of competition, community, and national attention.
Set against the scenic marshes near Hilton Head Island, the tournament marked the opening stop of the 2026 World League FlingGolf Pro Series.

From the Lowcountry to Team USA
Three players earned spots on Team USA for the upcoming Britain’s Cup during the Lowcountry Open:
- Men’s Division: Brett Maginley
- Women’s Division: Carla Christian
- Masters Division: Michael Alexiou
The event also featured a Team USA Captain announcement: Shawn Van Lancker, a long time ambassador of the sport, Masters champion, and innovator behind the FlingStick cart clip and slug bullet insert.
They’ll join an elite lineup with Sam Scannell, Austin Ebersole, Titus Harter, Obediah Harter, Jacob Hooter, Britt Hammond, and Jeff Harvey…with two spots remaining. Those final spots determined at the New Swarm Classic in Delaware this May, along with a Captain’s choice selection across any division.
ESPN Coverage & National Spotlight
Sunday’s final round was filmed by ESPN, capturing the leaders down the stretch and post-round winner interviews. Coverage is expected to air in August.

A Growing Competitive Tour
The Lowcountry Open marked the first stop of the World League FlingGolf Pro Series, with additional events and regional tournaments held throughout the year.
Amateurs are welcome to compete, making the Pro Series one of the most accessible competitive formats in the sport.
Next Stop on the Pro Series
The tour continues with the New Swarm Classic in Delaware at American Classic Golf Club, further building momentum for the World League FlingGolf Pro Series.
